1 Dead After Fire in Benner Township

One man is dead after a fire late Sunday night at a mobile home in Benner Township, according to state police at Rockview.

Police said the man’s identity will be confirmed pending a dental exam. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, according to Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers.

The home at 1117 Buffalo Run Road was destroyed by the fire that broke out at about 10:30 p.m. Logan, Undine, Pleasant Gap, Walker Township and Citizen’s fire companies were dispatched to the scene for a dwelling fire with entrapment.

Buffalo Run Road/Route 550 was closed for several hours in the area of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
