A Spring Mills woman was seriously injured in a high-speed, single-vehicle crash Thursday in Potter Township, according to state police at Rockview.

The crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. on the 3400 block of Route 45/Penns Valley Pike. According to a crash report, the 36-year-old woman was driving a 2013 Nissan Rogue eastbound “at a high rate of speed” when she crossed into the opposing lane and left the roadway.

After crashing through a cattle fence, the vehicle continued through a field then went airborne for approximately 120 feet before crashing to the ground and rolling over.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and “sustained numerous substantial injuries,” police wrote. She was flown by helicopter to UPMC Williamsport.

The crash remains under investigation.

Penns Valley EMS, Centre Hall Fire Company and Walk’s Towing also responded to the scene.
