The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported two new COVID-19 cases in Centre County on Monday, bringing the county’s total to 133 since the first was reported on March 20.
Pennsylvania’s total number of COVID-19 cases is now 63,056, with 822 new positives reported on Monday. It was the eighth consecutive day the state had fewer than 1,000 new cases.
The state has had 4,505 COVID-19 deaths, with the health department reporting 87 new deaths on Monday.
Centre County is now listed as having five COVID-19 deaths in updated health department data, down from the previously reported six. All five deaths have been among nursing or personal care home residents.
Three nursing homes in the county have a combined 18 resident and 13 employee cases. The Oaks at Pleasant Gap has reported employee and resident cases, including two resident deaths. Wynwood House in State College and Centre Crest in Bellefonte have each reported at least one employee case.
The health department does not yet identify nursing home cases by facility. Statewide there are there are 13,626 resident and 2,111 employee COVID cases at 561 facilities in 44 counties. Among the state’s deaths attributed to the virus, 3,086 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care homes.

Among Centre County’s bordering counties, Huntingdon now has 214 cases, Mifflin has 57, Union has 51, Clinton has 44, Blair has 38 and Clearfield has 33.
A total of 277,553 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for COVID-19, including 1,512 people in Centre County. Across the state, 1,885 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 386 requiring a ventilator, as of noon on Monday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health does not provide data on recovered patients. According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has had 1,491,547 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 89,636 deaths and 272,265 recoveries.
