A 7-year-old boy was taken by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday in Patton Township.
The crash happened at 11:56 a.m. on the 5500 block of Buffalo Run Road, just past Meeks Lane. Patton Township Police Chief Tyler Jolley said the boy was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by the vehicle, which was traveling northbound toward Carson’s Corner.
Jolley said the child was conscious at the scene, but his condition was not available.
The driver involved was not injured and the case is under investigation.
Buffalo Run Road in the area of the incident was closed until about 12:50 p.m. Police were assisted on the scene by Centre LifeLink EMS and Alpha Fire Company.
