A traffic signal was damaged in an accident at the intersection of Houserville Road and East College Avenue in College Township at 11:31 a.m. Thursday and the signal will not be functioning for the next eight to 12 hours.
State College Police ask that motorists use caution at the intersection, as new traffic patterns will be in effect.
Northbound traffic on State Route 26 is prohibited from turning left onto Houserville Road, and southbound traffic on State Route 26 is prohibited from turning left onto Pike Street, police said.
All traffic leaving Pike Street onto East College Avenue will be required to turn right onto northbound State Route 26. All traffic leaving Houserville Road onto East College Avenue will be required to turn right onto southbound State Route 26, police said.
The traffic restrictions are in effect until the traffic signal is repaired and police said signs and traffic boards will be in place to assist motorists.
