The 51st Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts is just over a month away, and on Friday the festival continued an annual tradition with the release of this year’s collectible poster.
The 24-inch by 36-inch poster features the festival’s iconic jester ‘standing shoulder to shoulder in a stylized Central Pennsylvania landscape with the tower of Penn State’s Old Main in the background,’ as described an Arts Fest news release. ‘A happy and radiant sunrise presides over the whole scene.’
The poster is designed by Lanny Sommese, Penn State professor emeritus of graphic design who has been creating the festival’s posters since the tradition began in 1974. The entire collection of his posters is on display in the HUB-Robeson Galleries at Penn State.
This year’s Arts Fest is July 12-16, with Children and Youth Day on July 12 and the festival’s Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition opening on July 13.
The festival poster can be picked up at the following locations:
-Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau, 800 E. Park Ave., State College
-Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, 403 S. Allen St., Suite 205A, State College
