Earlier coverage, posted @ 3:52 p.m. Nov. 28:
The First National Bank branch in Boalsburg was robbed shortly before noon Monday, State College police said.
Police said they got the emergency call at 11:53 a.m. The suspect did not display a weapon at the bank, 400 Boal Ave., and left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a news release.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which lasted a minute or two, police Capt. John Gardner said. He said the suspect, as seen on surveillance footage, did not appear nervous or uncomfortable.
Police described the suspect as a white man between 20 and 30 years old. He is about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, police said.
Gardner said the suspect was wearing dark glasses, a multi-colored jacket and a dark-colored ski cap. He had some sort of mustache, Gardner said.
‘This is the time of year when we generally see this kind of activity,’ he said, referring to the holiday season. Particularly during Penn State’s holiday breaks, Gardner said, local convenience stores often have seen upticks in robberies.
Police are asking anyone who can identify the Monday bank-robbery suspect — and anyone who may have information about the incident — to call them at (814) 234-7150 or to submit an anonymous tip through the borough website.
They’ve released surveillance images from the scene; those are posted in the gallery above. (To open the gallery, click on the large image.)
