Bartlebaugh Named ‘Showman of the Year’

Jason Bartlebaugh, of Rebersburg, was named the 2018 Pennsylvania Showman of the Year at the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs/Pennsylvania State Showmen’s Association annual conference held recently at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey.  

The award recognizes excellence in the outdoor amusement business, outstanding service to industry trade associations, support of community fairs and festivals, and overall business integrity and leadership, according to a news release. 

Bartlebaugh, his wife, Corine; sister, Jennifer Harris; parents, Allen and Sheila; uncle Jerry and his wife, Lisa, and their son David and his wife, Kayla, are all involved in Bartlebaugh Amusements, a family carnival business which primarily covers the mid-state area of Pennsylvania. The show is made up of two complete units boasting over 40 rides. Jason Bartlebaugh puts in countless hours of effort and dedication making the business prosper, according to the showmen’s association.

He has been involved in the Pennsylvania State Showmen’s Association since 1999. He served as the state president in 2011 and has served as a director and committee chair, as well as serving as treasurer of the Western Chapter of the Association.

A fourth generation showman, Bartlebaugh a graduate of Lock Haven University and is active in his Centre County community, serving as fire chief and township supervisor in Miles Township. He and Corine have three daughters.

The Pennsylvania State Showmen’s Association is a non-profit organization that promotes the viability, growth and improvement of the mobile amusement industry in Pennsylvania.
