Bellefonte Police Dept. to Discuss Recent Happenings in Gricar Case (updated)

Former Centre County District Attorney Ray Gricar disappeared in April 2005, and there have not been any conclusive leads since that time. 

A special conference was held last week regarding the case, during which State Police investigators met with local authorities in Centre County, including the Bellefonte Police Department, to review evidence in the case. 



Today, the Bellefonte Police Department will hold a news conference to discuss their findings from that conference.


Gricar was last heard from on April 15, 2005, when he called his live-in girlfriend to tell her he was taking a drive.  His car was found the next day in a parking lot outside an antiques mall in Lewisburg, but no trace of Gricar has been found since then.  Prosecutors later found his missing laptop computer and its hard drive at the bottom of the nearby Susquehanna River.

Centre County authorities revealed at the news conference yesterday that they are no closer to finding Ray Gricar following the five-month state police investigation of the case.  However, they assured the public that they are still on the case, and will look at old evidence again with new perspectives and inquiries in mind, thanks to the state police Criminal Assessment Unit’s review of the investigation.
