Centre County reported 25 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to bring its total to 3,744 since the first was confirmed in March, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The county also had 293 new negative test results. A total of 34,085 patients in Centre County have tested negative for the virus.
According to DOH data, 13 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized at Mount Nittany Medical Center, an increase of two from Monday.
Two new positives were reported among residents of Centre County nursing and personal care homes, which have had a combined total of 81 resident cases and 38 employee cases across 11 facilities.
Statewide, the health department reported 1,557 new positives, increasing Pennsylvania’s total to 184,872.
There were 11,673 new negative test results statewide on Tuesday. A total of 2,155,639 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for the virus.
An estimated 79% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a DOH calculation.
Across Pennsylvania, 918 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 94 requiring use of a ventilator.
The health department reported 33 new COVID-19 deaths statewide, bringing the Pennsylvania’s total at 8,533. DOH has reported a total of 15 deaths attributed to the virus in Centre County, the most recent on Friday. The coroner’s office has confirmed 11, ranging in age from 74 to 101.
Most COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths have been among patients 65 and older, according to DOH.
Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 177,409 are confirmed and 7,463 are probable. In Centre County, 3,636 are confirmed and 108 are probable.
