Credit-Card Theft Reported Downtown; State College Police Seek Help

State College police are looking for several suspects in connection with a downtown credit-card theft — and they want the public’s help.

The theft happened about 1 a.m. Sunday at the Lion’s Den, 118 S. Garner Street, where a wallet containing the card was taken from a customer, police said.

Soon thereafter, about 1:40 a.m., four suspects used the card at a Patton Township McDonald’s, 1615 N. Atherton St., according to a police report. 

The suspects also tried to open additional credit-card accounts using the victim’s name, police said.
