David Adewumi has pleaded no contest on charges of allegedly stalking a State College High School student, according to the District Attorney’s office.

A no contest plea allows the court to sentence a defendant without the defendant admitting or denying guilt.

The 26-year-old Lemont man and State High graduate has been charged with misdemeanor stalking and harassment charges, and is now awaiting sentencing. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 21 at 9 a.m.

In addition to the stalking charges, which were filed last July, Adewumi was also recently convicted of making false reports after claiming he was sexually assaulted by correctional officers.

He pleaded guilty to those charges in June, after a series of incidents while being held in the Centre County Correctional Facility that involved “breaking the sprinkler head [in his cell], refusing to shower, lunging at a guard, covering a camera and attempting to assault a guard with fecal matter,” according a news release from the Centre County District Attorney’s office.

He was sentenced to one to four years for making false reports.
