Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale won a second term as the state’s chief fiscal watchdog. The Democrat from York defeated Republican challenger and Northampton County Executive John Brown

Democrat Joe Torsella of Montgomery County, meanwhile, won election as Pennsylvania Treasurer, defeating Berks County businessman Otto Voit.

With 93 percent of votes in statewide, DePasquale had 50.51 to 44.54 lead over Brown. In Centre County, with all precincts reporting, DePasquale had 34,986 votes (47.42 percent) to Brown’s 33,091 (44.86 percent).

Torsella, a retired ambassador and former deputy mayor of Philadelphia, will succeed Tim Reese as treasurer. Reese was nominated to the post by Gov. Tom Wolf following the resignation of Rob McCord in 2015 but did not seek election.

Torsella had a 50.66 to 44.18 lead over Voit with 96 percent of votes counted. In Centre County, Torsella defeated Voit 34,786 votes (47.27 percent) to 32,327 (43.93 percent).
