A detour will be in place during upcoming road work on a section of U.S. Route 322 in Centre County, according to PennDOT.

The department’s Centre County Maintenance Organization on Monday, Sept. 15, will make concrete repairs to a Route 322 bridge spanning Route 45 in Harris Township, about 3 miles southeast of State College, according to a news release.

While the repair work is underway, eastbound traffic will take the Old Fort exit and follow a detour using Route 45 and Boal Avenue back to Route 322. Flaggers will be at the bottom of the off-ramp to direct traffic.

Westbound traffic headed toward State College will remain on Route 322, though PennDOT “urges drivers to exercise caution in all work zones, to obey posted work zone signage and speed limits, and always buckle up.”

The work is expected to be completed in one day, but the schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, PennDOT wrote.
