The Family Clothesline, a Penn State-oriented clothing-and-merchandise store in downtown State College, is helping to raise money for a tornado-damaged expanse of Alabama, the store announced Monday.
Tornadoes struck the state on April 27, killing 243 people there — including six University of Alabama students.
The Penn State football team is scheduled to pay Alabama on Sept. 10. With that in mind, the Family Clothesline has printed what it calls a ‘relief T-shirt,’ with all proceeds going to the charity known as Project Team Up, according to a news release.
Project Team Up — in partnership with University of Alabama football Coach Nick Sabin’s charity, Nick’s Kids — is helping to clean up and rebuild the tornado-stricken areas of Alabama.
The relief T-shirt, available in navy blue and in white, is priced at $15.99 and $16.99. It’s available at the Family Clothesline’s State College store, 352 E. College Ave., and online at www.pennstateclothes.com.
‘At the end of each game day, it does not matter what school one cheers for, or what colors one wears to the game,’ a Clothesline statement reads. ‘We all belong to one college football family.’
