U.S. Route 322 in Potter Township was closed for about five hours on Wednesday night after a fatal crash.
One person was killed in the crash, which happened just before 7 p.m. on Route 322 westbound, at the 3100 block of General Potter Highway between Krise Valley Road and Route 144.
State police at Rockview said a pickup truck traveling eastbound crossed over into the westbound lane to pass a tractor trailer. Another tractor trailer was traveling westbound at about 35 miles per hour and collided head on with the pickup truck. The female driver of the pickup truck, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Centre Hall and Boalsburg fire companies and Mifflin County Emergency Management responded.
The road was closed in both directions until about midnight, according to PennDOT.
The Centre County Report reported that traffic was at a standstill and was being directed to turn around for detours.
