Downtown State College’s already impressive array of downtown bars will have another member when the Fraser Centre opens next fall.
Federal Taphouse, which currently has locations in Harrisburg and Lancaster, will open its third restaurant and bar on the second floor of State College’s newest high rise. The Centre Daily Times was the first to report the story.
The bar looks to rival downtown beer bars Zeno’s and Liberty with its expected selection of more than 100 beers on draft. It will also have a full food menu and serve as a restaurant for the new Hyatt Hotel in Fraser Centre.

Once completed, the Fraser Centre will feature 60,000 square feet of retail space, a 158-room Hyatt, and 26 to 32 residential condos. The building will stand at 155 feet, making it the tallest in State College by about 60 feet. Federal Taphouse follows popular clothing retailer H&M as the two announced retailers moving in to Fraser Centre.
Suffice it to say it’s a great day for alcohol news.
