Two members of the Ferguson Township Police Department were promoted on Thursday.
Brian Rose was promoted from corporal to sergeant and Eric Albright was promoted from officer to corporal. Both took their oaths of office at a swearing in by Magisterial District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker.
Rose has been with Ferguson Township Police for 10 years and was previously promoted to corporal in 2011. He chairs the department’s safety committee, organizes physical agility testing for applicants, manages the Field Training Program and served as the department’s liaison with the police academy.
He has arrested more than 285 impaired drivers, according to the department.
A graduate of Central High School in Martinsburg, Pa., Rose holds a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Mount Aloysius College. He served in the U.S. Army as a crewman on a M1A1 Abrams tank and began his law enforcement career with Penn State Police in 2003.

Albright joined Ferguson Township Police in 2011. He serves as a child safety seat inspector, an active shooter instructor who provides training to organizations on active shooter situations, and as a JTAC who manages the department’s use of confidential local, state and federal information databases. Albright also verifies that department meets training, security, retention and usage guidelines through ongoing audits.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in administration of justice from Penn State University and began his law enforcement career at the Centre County Sheriff’s Office.
Rose and Albright recently assisted with the identification of a suspect in an August robbery and bomb threats. In September, Albright and Officer Ryan Plunkett administered Narcan and saved the life of a 43-year-old woman who had overdosed on heroin.
