Find Your Voting Location; Comment on New Voting Machines

Earlier this year, county officials voted to make the change to electronic voting machines, and today many voters will experience them for the first time.

The new iVotronic touch-screen voting machines have replaced the punch-card ballots at all of the polling stations in Centre County.  The change was made in compliance with federal and state law, but some voters remain weary of the new system, citing specifically the lack of a paper trail.

Aside from voting for candidates in this mid-term election, voters will also cast a ballot on whether they support the state taking on up to $20 million debt in order to provide compensation to 1990-91 Persian Gulf veterans.

There are 18 voting locations in the immediate State College area.  To find out which one to attend, click here and enter your name and date of birth.  The site will verify which location you are assigned to.

For more information regarding the elections, or to learn how to use the new voting system before visiting the polling location, visit the Centre County Web site or call the county’s Office of Elections at (814) 355-6703.

Polls close at 8 p.m. tonight. Check back for polling updates later in the day.
