A kitchen fire caused damage to a home in the College Heights neighborhood of State College on Tuesday night.
Crews responded at 6:39 p.m. to 303 Hillcrest Avenue, near the intersection with North Atherton Street, after a passerby reported seeing a fire inside the house.
State College police were first on the scene and officers were able to get a quick hit on the fire from the doorway before it spread far beyond the kitchen, according to an Alpha Fire Company Facebook post.
Alpha firefighters arrived and quickly finished putting out the fire.
No one was injured, but the house also sustained smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire was determined to be unattended cooking.
