Drivers in downtown State College may see some minor delays between 6 and 7:15 p.m. on Friday, borough police said.

Two events — the First Night State College Grand Procession and the First Night 5K Resolution Run — will kick off at 6:30 p.m. that day. Both will affect traffic patterns in the downtown and on the University Park campus.

The procession will form at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 208 W. Foster Ave., and travel north on Fraser Street to College Avenue; east on College to Allen Street; south on Allen to Foster Avenue; and west on Foster to Sidney Friedman Park, formerly Central Parklet.

The Resolution Run, meanwhile, will start on College Avenue at Allen Street. Participants will run west on College Avenue to Burrowes Road, then north on Burrowes to Curtin Road. From there, they’ll follow Curtin Road to Bigler Road, Bigler to Pollock Road, Pollock to Fraser Road, Fraser to Curtin Road, Curtin to Shortlidge Road, and Shortlidge to College Avenue.

Finally, the runners will follow College Avenue west to the end of Locust Lane.

To accommodate the procession and the run, parts of College Avenue between South Garner and South Fraser streets will be restricted to one lane between 6 and 7:15 p.m., police said.
