In late October, shortly before the Bellefonte and Bald Eagle football teams met for their annual match, Bald Eagle school officials found their athletic field entirely doused in red spray paint.  The vandals wrote pro-Bellefonte messages and obscenities on ticket booths, benches, concession stands, and the press box.

Police used video surveillance to help catch the responsible teens.  According to police, the vandals all attend Bellefonte High School and play on the Red-Raider football team.

The responsible vandals caused more than $2,100 in damage.

The suspects include 18-year-olds John Gentzel and Todd Bechdel, as well as three minors whose names were not released, will probably have to foot the bill for the clean up costs of the stadium.

The five students are facing several criminal charges, including institutional vandalism, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, and criminal mischief.
