A former State College massage therapist was found guilty on Wednesday of indecent assault and harassment after a three-day jury trial.

Kevin Gilliam, 58, was charged in early 2017 after multiple complaints by women who said they were inappropriately touched by Gilliam during sessions at American Chiropractic Spa and Retreat. A State College police detective said an investigation revealed a pattern of inappropriate sexual touching by Gilliam during massages dating back to 2012.

Four women testified at trial that Gilliam had inappropriate contact with their genitals and/or breasts, according to a news release from the Centre County District Attorney’s office.

After deliberating for about six hours, the jury found Gilliam guilty of one count of felony aggravated indecent assault, two counts of misdemeanor indecent assault and three summary counts of harassment.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 29 before Judge Brian Marshall.

“It is important that survivors of sexual abuse know that if they come forward and tell their stories, they will be heard,’ District Attorney Bernie Cantorna said. ‘We are thankful for the jurors’ service and their verdict.”
