THON 2017 saw a few more high-profile visitors to the Bryce Jordan Center on Saturday afternoon.

Gov. Tom Wolf and U.S. Sen. Bob Casey both stopped by the annual student-run dance marathon to offer words of support and encouragement for the effort to support the Four Diamonds Fund and the fight against pediatric cancer.

“Because of what you’re doing, we are now able to spend money on groundbreaking research to try to come up with cures,” Wolf said. “I just want to say your Pennsylvania family is really proud of you.”

Wolf then led a loud ‘We are… Penn State’ cheer.

It was Wolf’s second visit to the area this week. On Monday, he spoke at Happy Valley Launchbox on South Allen Street to discuss higher education and economic development.

‘I want to thank the students here at Penn State for doing THON,’ Casey said during brief remarks. ‘This is a great inspiration… God bless your work!’

THON saw another famous face make a surprise appearance on Friday night when Joe Jonas and his band DNCE put on an electrifying performance.
