Heavy Rain Triggers Flood Advisory Wednesday Afternoon

The skies opened Wednesday afternoon, bringing torrents of rain to the State College area.

As a result of all that precipitation the National Weather Service has posted a Flood Advisory.

That means there could be minor flooding in areas where the heaviest rain is occurring. AccuWeather says rain could be “intense” Wednesday afternoon.

The Flood Advisory will remain in effect until 5:30 p.m.

Runoff could cause water to accumulate on streets and underpasses as well as areas with poor drainage.

Drivers are reminded not to cross roads that are covered in water.

Accuweather is calling for mild temperatures with a low of 64 Wednesday evening. Clouds and sunshine are expected Thursday.
