Jerry Sandusky Seeks Changes to Bail Conditions

Jerry Sandusky is expected back in court in February to seek changes to his bail conditions, including the ability to see his grandchildren.

Sandusky’s attorney, Joe Amendola, filed a request Friday in the Centre County Court of Common Pleas that Sandusky be permitted to visit with his grandchildren at his home as long as there is parental supervision. The request says some of his grandchildren are sad they can’t communicate with Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach.

According to court documents, Sandusky would like to communicate with his grandchildren via telephone, Skype and text messaging. He also would like to visit with friends at his home and travel to meet his counsel and private investigators to work on his defense case.

Sandusky, accused of an extended pattern of child sexual abuse, faces 52 criminal counts and has been on house arrest since posting bail Dec. 8. The terms of his bail prohibit him from contacting anyone under the age of 18.

The hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 10 at the Centre County Courthouse.
