The Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Evening Celebration, scheduled for Tuesday evening at Penn State’s Eisenhower Auditorium, has been canceled, the university announced this afternoon.
Immediate past NAACP Chairman Julian Bond was scheduled to appear as the keynote speaker, but ‘the inclement weather affecting large parts of the country has prevented (him) from traveling to State College,’ according to a university statement.
Everyone who has tickets for the event will be able to use them if the event is rescheduled, Penn State reported. The tickets are free and available to the public through university ticket outlets.
