Former presidential adviser and leading Republican strategist Karl Rove will be the keynote speaker at the Centre County Republican Committee’s 2011 Lincoln Day Gala, the county GOP announced Thursday.
The gala is scheduled for Feb. 25 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. Tickets, available to the public, are priced at $100 apiece, according to the county GOP website. They’re being sold through the website.
‘Having Karl Rove in Centre County is sure to generate tremendous interest, especially as 2011 and 2012 are shaping up to be exciting election years for the Republican Party,’ county Republican Committee Chairman Jennifer Myers said in a prepared statement. ‘Karl Rove has been a witness to history and played a key role in shaping it. I’m thrilled that area Republicans will have an opportunity to hear his vision for tomorrow.’
The annual Lincoln Day gala serves as a GOP fundraiser, celebration and campaign-season kick-off.
From 2000 to 2007, Rove was senior adviser to President George W. Bush. From 2004 to 2007, he doubled as deputy chief of staff in the White House.
Now a Fox News contributor, Rove also is a columnist for Newsweek and writes regularly for The Wall Street Journal. He is the author of ‘Courage and Consequence,’ a memoir.
Signed copies of the book will be available for sale at the February gala, according to the GOP website.
