The Department of Transportation announced on Monday that a new law requiring motorists to turn on their headlights any time their vehicle’s wipers are in continuous or intermittent use due to weather or other atmospheric conditions will go into effect in January.
“Other atmospheric conditions” referred to in the new law include fog and mist.
Motorists who do not comply with the new law could face a fine of $25, but with fees and other associated costs, the penalty would total closer to $100.
