Letter: Friedenberg Will Represent the People, Not Special Interests

Across the towns and farms of Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District, people are concerned about their health care, their ability to afford a higher education for themselves or their children, about our crumbling infrastructure and the opioid crisis. For too many years, our representation in Congress has ignored these issues while representing special interests. 

Now we can do something about it. On May 21, at the same time as the primary election, there will be a special election to fill the recently vacated U.S. House seat. This special election is open to all registered voters — including Independents. 

Marc Freidenberg is the man for the job. He has a record of achievement when it comes to protecting our health care and is committed to ensuring coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, to providing student aid to help make college and trade schools affordable, to working to fix our roads and bridges and build rural broadband and also solving the opioid crisis.

The time for change is now! Let’s elect someone who will represent the people and work for us. On May 21 vote to send Marc Freidenberg to Congress.
