I want to publicly declare my support for Jake Werner as the next member of State College Borough Council. Yes, I am proud, registered Democrat voting for Jake (the Republican candidate) during these divided times.
Jake, like me, realizes that we need to forge a path of bipartisanship as we look to heal divides and work jointly on important matters that affect our local community.
During his day job, Jake works as a veterinarian and professor for Penn State and he is dedicated to the care of our farm animals. Jake cares equally about the borough of State College and wants to ensure that we continue to have a vibrant community that celebrates diversity and inclusiveness and welcomes businesses and people from around the world. These people include students and residents — no matter what their interests or professions.
Jake has spent his time meeting personally with business leaders in our downtown, talking with students and speaking with our mayor so that he can understand community challenges and be prepared to face them when he sits on council.
Jake is dedicated to fiscal transparency and responsibility, preserving our historic downtown and remaining green space, providing openness and fairness to all of our citizens and visitors and supporting local business leaders.
Please vote for Jake Werner for State College Borough Council on Nov. 2, 2021.
