A woman who was struck while crossing North Atherton Street suffered severe injuries and was flown by Life Flight from the scene.
State College Police said the 52-year-old woman was walking across the northbound lane at the 600 block of North Atherton Street when she was struck by an SUV at 11:53 p.m. on Saturday. The driver of the SUV was not injured, and police say there was no suspicion of DUI. The investigation is ongoing.
Alpha Fire Company, Fire Police and Centre LifeLink assisted at the scene of the accident.
