Police reported that a borough man was hit by a minivan while crossing University Drive near Prospect Avenue shortly after noon yesterday.
23-year-old Justin M. Derber was concious when police arrived to investigate the accident that took place in front of the Burger King on University Drive. He was bleeding badly from a head wound.

Derber was crossing the street in a non-crosswalk area and was hit in the southbound lane by a Dodge minivan driven by Jason W. Kephart, 32, of Pleasant Gap.
Derber was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of moderate head and hip injuries. He was admitted and listed in satisfactory condition.
The investigation is continuing.
