One of Jerry Sandusky’s adopted children is filing to have his last name changed. Matt Sandusky, who alleged abuse by Jerry at a trial last year, filed a petition in Centre County Court on Wednesday on behalf of himself, his wife and his four children.
The documents are sealed, but according to an electronic filing in Centre County Court, Matt Sandusky filed the petition and sent fingerprints to Harrisburg yesterday. There are six plaintiffs on the petition.
In June 2012, Matt Sandusky was supposed to testify for the defense, as a character witness for his adoptive father. Halfway through Jerry Sandusky’s trial, Matt alleged that he, too, had been molested by the former Penn State assistant coach.
Matt Sandusky never testified.
Jerry Sandusky’s wife and Matt Sandusky’s adoptive mother, Dottie, testified that she never saw her husband do anything wrong.
Jerry Sandusky was convicted last year on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse. He was sentenced in October to 30-60 years in prison and is serving his sentence in solitary confinement at SCI Greene.
