Tyler and Matt Greer, of Port Matilda, make up dynamic brother duo The Corner Brothers. The Greers have been making music their entire lives, and have been performing together for the past six years. They play live music all over State College and have been making a name for themselves on the local scene.
The Corner Brothers consider themselves “people-people,” and that’s no surprise after watching one of their performances. They started off performing on the street, developing their own unique style while chatting up strangers and building relationships with the people who walk by. They bring that same style to the stage when they perform in downtown State College bars.
A Corner Brothers set can sometimes feel more like an improv show than live music — Tyler and Matt flow quickly between playing their music, taking requests, interacting with the audience, and performing their own bits as if they were rehearsed.
But that’s the amazing part — it’s all in the moment.
You can see the Corner Brothers on Wednesdays from 9-11 p.m. at Cafe 210 West or on Fridays from 5-7 p.m. at Champs or 8:30-9:45 at Cafe 210.
