A new CVS Pharmacy will be built in State College, which means the closure of another local location.
The new CVS will be constructed at the former site of a Blockbuster store at the corner of North Atherton Street and West Cherry Lane, according to CVS Spokesman Mike DeAngelis.
Crews are demolishing the old Blockbuster building this week.
The company will be relocating its current store in the Highland Center shopping plaza to the new site, which is slated to open in October.
“Our new location will be more convenient and accessible to our State College customers,” says DeAngelis.
The company has made some recent changes in the State College area. CVS closed its location in the Nittany Mall and opened a new location on South Atherton Street.
