Micro-loans are now available to help formerly incarcerated individuals elevate themselves in entrepreneurial and career pursuits.
The New Centre County Re-Start Seed Fund will provide cash to assist returning citizens in launching a new product or venture, or paying for training or certification. These loans are expected to be approximately $300. Additionally, business mentorship would be made available to recipients.
Applications are available at Centre Peace, 3047 Benner Pike, Bellefonte.
The fund is primarily available to Centre County residents who have been released within the last two years, however applications from returning citizens in neighboring counties (Mifflin, Blair, Clearfield, Clinton) who have been released in the last four years will be reviewed.
The fund is part of the Centre County ReEntry Coalition () and is operated through Centre Peace (). It’s been made possible through a grant from the State College chapter of the Awesome Foundation, which is organized locally through 3 Dots.
