Paterno Award: Penn State football coach Joe Paterno will be annually recognized by the Maxwell Football Club, which Friday announced the creation of the Joseph V. Paterno Award.

The announcement was made by the Maxwell Club hours before of its 73rd Annual Awards Banquet in Atlantic City, N.J. The Maxwell Club presents 13 high school, college and professional football awards each year at its black-tie dinner. Click here for the full story.

Election Committee: Penn State professor Patrick McDaniel, former investigator of Ohio’s voting system, will join a federal committee to establish voting system guidelines, the Centre Daily Times reported.

McDaniel was the focus of a Faculty Q+A in October.

Sexual Assault: A man who police said sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl was found in Brooklyn by U.S. Marshals last month and was returned to Centre County to face charges. Click here for the full story.
