More than 700 Penn State students have been set up all week outside Beaver Stadium for Nittanyville’s weeklong campout ahead of Saturday’s White Out game.
They’ll be getting front row seats in the student section, but Nittanyville is about more than that.
‘This community has really become my family,’ said freshman Kyle Cannillo. ‘I’ve been able to get great seats but I’ve also been able to do really fun activities.’
During the day, Cannillo and others go about their regular routines, attending classes and doing homework. For Cannillo, that means studying for an upcoming exam while outside the stadium.
‘Obviously academics come first, but whenever I do have free time, I’m happy to come down to Nittanyville,’ he said.
Among the events during Nittanyville have been a dunk contest with the Penn State men’s basketball team, visits from the football team, Lionettes and Blue Band and more.
