Centre County’s total number of COVID-19 cases remained at 129, with no new positives reported on Saturday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
It was the first time in five days that there were no new cases in the county, which has added 33 new positives in the past two weeks.
COVID-19 deaths in Centre County also remained unchanged at six, five of which have been among residents of nursing or personal care homes, according to updated health department data.
Though the county’s overall count stayed the same, the adjusted nursing home figures show an increase of one resident and one employee case. Three nursing homes in the county now have a combined 17 resident and 12 employee cases.
Statewide, there were 989 new cases on Saturday, bringing Pennsylvania’s total to 61,611. It was the sixth consecutive day the state had fewer than 1,000 new cases.
The health department also added 61 new COVID-19 deaths to its count, which now stands at 4,403.

16870 (Port Matilda): 8
16828 (Centre Hall), 16866 (Philipsburg), 16844 (Julian), 16841 (Howard), 16852 (Madisonburg) each have 1-4 cases. Specific numbers are not provided for zip codes with fewer than five cases.
Among Centre County’s bordering counties, Huntingdon now has 208 cases, Mifflin has 57, Union has 46, Clinton has 43, Blair has 34 and Clearfield has 33.
A total of 266,225 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for COVID-19, including 1,438 people in Centre County. Across the state, 1,887 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, with 409 requiring a ventilator, as of noon on Saturday.
