The State College area may see some flurries Friday and Saturday, but a full-on white Christmas is highly unlikely in the Centre Region, according to AccuWeather.com.
‘Unfortunately, unless you’re up at Tussey, it doesn’t look like there’s going to be a white Christmas for State College,’ said AccuWeather.com senior meteorologist Alan Reppert.
Earlier in the week, forecasts suggested that a weather system may bring some substantial snow in time for Saturday.
But that system has tracked farther to the south, and is moving more slowly than expected, Reppert said. ‘Any chance of seeing a white Christmas (here) is very minuscule.’
It appears that the region’s next chance for snow may arrive toward the middle or end of next week, Reppert said. He said it’s still too soon to say if ‘we’ll see much of anything from that.’
