We hate to start your Sunday off with bad news but we don’t want to keep you in suspense. No, you did not win that huge Powerball jackpot.
Here are the winning numbers from Saturday night’s drawing: 10, 13, 14, 22, 52 — the Powerball number is 11.
Powerball fever swept over the country the past few days with people standing in long lines to buy tickets and a shot at being filthy rich. Amazingly, there was only one winning ticket and it was sold at a grocery store outside Tampa, Florida. Whoever bought that winning ticket will claim the largest Powerball jackpot ever.
The winner bucked some incredibly long odds — one in 175 million.
Earlier, lottery officials said the jackpot had hit a staggering $600 million. That number has apparently been downsized a tad. The Powerball website now says the grand prize was $590,500,000 grand prize.
While you did not win the grand prize, maybe you’ve collected one of smaller prizes. The Powerball people say 7,598,547 tickets paid out something. The holders of those tickets will split up a pot valued at $83,997,200.
The next Powerball drawing will be held Wednesday. The jackpot, so far, is a relatively paltry $40 million.
