A $50,000 winning raffle ticket was recently sold at a State College-area Sheetz, according to a Pennsylvania Lottery release on Monday.

The ticket was among the first two $50,000 Weekly Drawing prizes as part of the New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. The raffle features eight weekly drawings for two prizes of $50,000, leading up to the Jan. 7 drawing that will include four $1 million prizes.

Winning ticket No. 00036978 was sold at Sheetz, 1781 North Atherton St. The other weekly drawing winner, ticket No. 00033733, was sold at a Sheetz at 1500 Graham Avenue in Windber. Both were randomly drawn from among more than 48,000 Millionaire Raffle ticket numbers sold between Nov. 8 and 14.

The winners should make an appointment to visit a Pennsylvania Lottery office to claim the $50,000 prizes. The prize cannot be claimed at a retailer or by mail.

A ticket that wins a weekly drawing is still eligible to win the Jan. 7 drawing, which, in addition to the $1 million prizes, will include four prizes of $100,000; 100 prizes of $1,000; and 5,892 prizes of $100.
