State College Area High School celebrated homecoming week with its annual parade on Thursday evening.
Numerous groups from throughout the school district community took part in the parade, which this year did not take its traditional route ending at Memorial Field.
Citing safety concerns related to street crossings, the district altered this year’s route to travel from the high school west on Westerly Parkway and through parts of the Holmes-Foster and Greentree neighborhoods. The parade concluded back at State High with a pep rally at the South Track field.
Homecoming week continues on Friday with the 3-1 Little Lion football team’s game against 3-2 Central Dauphin. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Memorial Field.
