Penn State Basketball: 2014 Schedule Complete With Release Of Big Ten Slate

Penn State’s basketball team and its fans are getting a first look at the complete 2014-15 basketball schedule.

The Big Ten conference announced its slate of games late Thursday.

The Nittany Lions will once again open Big Ten play on the road against Wisconsin as part of a schedule that sees Penn State play four of its first six games on the road. Head Coach Patrick Chambers enters his fourth year at the helm of the program with his team being led by senior guard DJ Newbill.

The good news for Penn State is that the program will host five weekend games against conference opponents, a time slot that usually results in the best crowds every season. The Nittany Lions will host Purdue, Rutgers, Nebraska, Maryland and Iowa during weekend contests.

Penn State will finish the season with four of six at home, hosting Maryland and Wisconsin before heading on the road to Northwestern. The Nittany Lions will return to the Bryce Jordan Center to face Iowa and Ohio State before closing out the regular season on the road at Minnesota.

While Penn State could still be a season or two away from really getting the ball rolling, a roster mixed with youth and experience could build on last year’s 6-12 conference record. If the Nittany Lions can win on the weekends, steal a game or two on the road and finish out the year strong, it could wind up being a very good year.

The full conference schedule can be seen below.
