Penn State basketball continued to take care of business out of conference with an 80-65 victory over Binghamton on Tuesday as the Nittany Lions improved to 10-3 on the year.

It was a fast start yet again for Penn State with two quick baskets and a 10-second violation to open the game. From there Binghamton regained its footing taking an eventual 19-16 lead.

But Penn State punched back, an 8-0 run forcing a timeout and giving the Nittany Lions the lead. Penn State took a 39-36 margin into the half and never really looked back.

The second half was the Nittany Lions in a nutshell, Mike Watkins dominated in close while Penn State went 10-of-17 from beyond the arc on the night the game wider. Binghamton would cut the margin to just single digits but baskets by Shep Garner pushed it back into double figures in the game’s final minutes.

Lamar Stevens paced Penn State with 16 points while all five starters scored double digits between 12 and 15 points. Mike Watkins pulled down 11 rebounds, chipping in 12 points on five-of-eight shooting. Penn State as a team shot 57-percent from the field while racking up 17 assists and 36 points in the paint.

Penn State plays again Friday against Rider.
