Penn State Fall Commencement Ceremonies Set

Penn State will hold commencement ceremonies at campuses across the state this weekend. University-wide, an estimated 5,247 will receive diplomas, including 252 associate, 3,936 baccalaureate, 762 master’s, 11 law and 286 doctoral degrees.

At University Park, events begin with the Schreyer Honors College Medal Ceremony at 5 p.m. Friday in The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center.

Commencement begins Saturday morning with undergraduate degree ceremonies at 9 a.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center for the College of Agricultural Sciences, Smeal College of Business, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, College of Engineering and College of Information Sciences and Technology.

At 12:30 p.m., undergraduate degrees will be awarded for students in the College of Arts and Architecture, College of Communications, College of Education, College of Health and Human Development, College of the Liberal Arts, College of Nursing and Eberly College of Science.

President Eric Barron will deliver remarks at both undergraduate commencements.

Graduate School ceremonies will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Jordan Center. Shyam Sundar, distinguished professor of communications and the founding director of Penn State’s Media Effects Research Laboratory will deliver remarks.
