Penn State is headed to a bowl game, and has been to many bowl games. But how well do you know all of the little details about the bowls the Nittany Lions have played in all of the program’s history?
Well for one this will be the first time Penn State has played a bowl in New York and the 8th state the Nittany Lions have visited in the postseason. The most visited state? Florida gets that honor with 20 bowl appearances down in the warmth of Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa and Orlando. Not a bad place to play some football.
While Penn State has played in only eight states, the Nittany Lions have played a total of 14 cities ranging from Honolulu to Memphis. Miami has hosted the Nittany Lions on seven occasions followed up by Tempe, Arizona six different times.
And stadiums? Penn State has played in 18 different venues in the postseason with Sun Devil Stadium taking home top honors with all six games Penn State has played in Tempe.
