Former Penn State All-Americans Steve Wisniewski and Kerry Collins have been added to the 2016 College Football Hall of Fame ballot. The ballot as released by the National Football Foundation on Tuesday.
An All-American offensive guard in 1987 and 1988, Wisniewski helped Penn State win its second national title in 1986. He would go on to become a second-round draft pick by the then Los Angeles Raiders. While in LA, Wisniewski picked up eight Pro Bowl honors.
On the ballot for the first time, Collins boasts the honor of having quarterbacked one of the best and most lethal offenses in college football history. Collins was awarded the Maxwell and Davey O’Brien Awards following Penn State’s undefeated 1994 campaign. Eventually Collins was selected fifth overall in the 1995 NFL draft and played in the league for 17 seasons.
Penn State linebacker Shane Conlan is the most recent inductee into the Hall of Fame and is the 23rd Penn State player to receive the honor.
