Penn State and Michigan will take the field October 12 for a 5:00 p.m Homecoming kickoff televised. The game will mark the first of two straight night games as the Nittany Lions will travel to Columbus for an 8:00 p.m clash with the Buckeyes two weeks later.

Penn State is scheduled for a bye week between the Michigan and Ohio State clashes.

The Nittany Lions and Wolverines will play for the first time since 2010 with Penn State holding a three-game winning streak after Michigan’s nine-game streak against the Nittany Lions was snapped.

Sunset is scheduled for roughly 6:20 on October 12 meaning about half of the game will be played under the lights for what will likely be the White House game for 2013. The game marks the third prime time meeting in Happy Valley between the two programs and the first game for head coach Bill O’Brien against one of Penn State’s longtime rivals. The Penn State vs Michigan game will air either on ESPN or ESPN2.

The announcement adds even more excitement to a weekend that will feature the usual homecoming festivities as well as the grand opening of the Pegula Ice Arena on October 11.

A determination on which network will nationally televise both games clash may not be made until six days before the contests. The Michigan and Ohio State games are the Nittany Lions’ first announced kick times for the upcoming season.
